2013 has been an incredibly busy but fantastic year!
In June the Telecare Services Authority passed RedAssure (our careline service) with flying colours. The auditor from the TSA found that no improvements were needed, and commented that in the four years she has been an auditor she can count on one hand the number of times this has happened. We were thrilled in July when the Homes and Communities Agency announced that we had retained the top rating for governance and financial viability when they carried out their annual review; this coupled with our 2013 financial statements showing a successful and strong year demonstrate our track record in improving our operating efficiency and financial results.
We have had a number of successful events with residents in the shape of the funday in August, and the residents conference in September; along with the many community house activities that have taken place this year which included eight children being given the chance to go scuba diving courtesy of Southern Water and a trip to the Adur outdoor activity centre.
Work started on our new developments at Grafton Road and Chesswood Road in May, with phase 1 of our regeneration programme at Meadow Road completing just this month. Refurbishment works to Cambourne Court – including a stunning new canopied entrance – were completed in the summer.
We were delighted in June when our New Brunswick Drive development (on the old St Barnabas site) was highly commended at the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) awards held in Brighton; and Reggie Relish’s ears must have been burning in September when, during a session at the Liberal Democrat conference, Relish™ (‘Residents 4 Low Impact Sustainable Homes’) was highlighted as an example of best practice and as a project that is delivering results.
Finally not only did Team RIVI, four guys from our maintenance department, take on and complete the Snowdonia challenge in under eight hours, they also gathered the most sponsorship money out of the 70 teams that competed. So thank you again to everyone that sponsored them.
We hope your year has been successful too, and we look forward to working with you all again in 2014.
From all of us here at Worthing Homes we wish you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
