We remember him

On Thursday 24 August 2012, a garden dedication was held in remembrance of Bernard Notley, who was Vice chair of Worthing Homes and Chair of Pearsons and St Elizabeths, when he sadly passed away in November 2011.

The low key ceremony was attended by Bernard’s niece and nephew, a few residents, staff and several members of the Board of Trustees.

Bernard became a Worthing Homes Board member in March 2002, where he was also a Trustee of Pearson’s Retreat. In November 2010, Bernard became Vice Chair of our Board and Chair of the Trust; he played a key role in helping to shape our services to our customers.

In 2011, the Trustee with the support of Bernard as Chair, agreed to commit the funds to improve the entrance of this site together with a name change. We hope you agree that these works have made a significant difference to the entrance of this lovely site.

Bernard is sadly missed not only by residents at Pearson’s Retreat but also by his colleagues at Worthing Homes.

We believe Bernard would be proud of the changes to the entrance of Pearson’s Retreat; his niece Lindsey thanked Worthing Homes for such a great tribute.
