Worthing homes has worked for a number of years in partnership with Albion in the Community (AITC) on their Cup Final Project, which provides free football sessions for children and young people, along with coaching and training opportunities for adults.
This work has now been celebrated with a reception held at the House of Commons, hosted by Brighton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas. Worthing Homes Sue Brown, project manager at the community house, was thrilled to be invited along to the reception as a guest of AITC.
The guests were treated to tea and cakes on the terraces of the House of Commons before hearing speeches from Caroline Lucas MP and members of the AITC staff including the chairman of Brighton and Hove Albion, Dick Knight.
Sue said: “I was very honoured to be invited along to a celebration of the work of Albion in the Community. AITC do wonderful work, not just making sure that the children and young people in our neighbourhoods get the opportunity to take part in sport, but also working very successfully with disabled youngsters in education centres, raising awareness of health issues including bowel and breast cancers and setting up football projects in deprived countries.”
