Sporting fun

In preparation for the Olympics in 2012 sports were the theme for Worthing Homes fun day held on Saturday 15 October.

The event, which was held at Maybridge Keystone club, was opened by Chris Polden, chair of Worthing Homes board, and had over 270 people in attendance.

I’m thrilled, this fun day has been our best in terms of attendance. Due to the outdoor space at the Maybridge Keystone Club we were able to put on more activities than we usually would, and with the sun shining the atmosphere was fantastic. Ruth Crack, resident involvement co-ordinator

Football with Brighton and Hove Albion in the community, street 20 cricket, taekwondo and boxing were just some of the sporting activities on offer; and for those people wanting to take part in something less strenuous there was an art corner, badge making and hand massages on offer.

Reggie Relish (‘Residents 4 Low Impact Sustainable Homes’) had great fun meeting everyone on the day and giving out balloons. Reggie also took the opportunity to take part in a jousting competition and try his very large hand at skittles!

The grand finale to the day was a tug of war, both a children’s and an adults group, with the winners from each group picking up their very own gold medal!
