Poppy Scott, Worthing Homes new sustainability co-ordinator, has secured £40,000 of funding from SGN to provide new gas supplies to 35 existing homes.
These new connections will enable more energy efficient gas fired boilers and central heating systems to be funded and installed by Worthing Homes to replace the existing electric storage heaters. Once SGN have completed all of the new connections, one of our contractors will install the new heating systems.
To ensure the residents use the new heating system to its full advantage, which in turn will help to reduce their energy bills, they will be shown how to use the system along with being given advice and support from Poppy using our Relish (‘Residents 4 Low Impact Sustainable Homes’) top tips and principles.
Robin Roberts, Property Services Director said: “We are delighted that Poppy has secured this funding, as it enables the majority of our remaining homes that still have old electric storage heaters to be replaced with more efficient A rated gas boilers.”
