Relish™ (‘Residents 4 Low Impact Sustainable Homes’), our multi award winning energy saving initiative, has just been announced as shortlisted for ‘Best Green Scheme’ in the 2015 24Housing Awards.
The Relish™ initiative was launched in 2009 to demonstrate the benefits of a sensible and cost effective approach to retrofitting within occupied properties along with guidance on changing ‘habits’ within the home.
Since then the project has gone from strength to strength and has been rolled out to more of our homes and supply chain.
In 2012, we introduced the Relish Smartwire™ (a simple to use power-down switch for all non-essential devices in the home) into our development on the old St Barnabas site. We then worked closely with the residents over the following 18 months, to monitor their energy consumption, and the findings have shown that Relish™ does make a difference to peoples ‘habits’ and in turn their energy consumption helping them to lower their bills, save money and help the planet.
