We were thrilled to learn that Relish™ has been short-listed for two Constructing Excellence in London and the South East Awards.
The Relish Smartwire™ which is a master power down switch for all non-essential electrical devices in the home has been short-listed for the Innovation award.
The Smartwire™ was recently fitted into 20 of the new homes at our New Brunswick Drive development in Worthing
The Smartwire™ is based on two simple but effective ideas – the inteliplug and the hotel swipe card, and has been altered to include ‘essential’ (grey) and ‘non-essential’ (white) sockets. The non-essential sockets, together with the lights and all non-essential appliances e.g. washing machine, are connected to and operated by a master switch located by the front door so residents can turn off the power to sockets and lights as they leave home. We estimate this could save each householder hundreds of pounds each year.
We are pleased to announce that our very own Robin Roberts, property Services Director, has also been short-listed. Robin has been nominated for Achiever of the year award, for his work on the Relish™ project.
This award recognises outstanding performance or influence by an individual who has been inspirational in the opinion of the sector peer group during the past twelve months. The winner’s actions will have changed the behaviour and performance of others and delivered disproportionate benefits for, and left a legacy in, the outputs of the built environment sector.
Constructing Excellence also say the award winner will naturally show all the hallmarks championed by them, such as a belief in best practice and a wholehearted commitment to the Rethinking Construction Principles.
We wish Robin and the Relish™ team the best of luck.
