Pearsons retreat

Pearsons Retreat in Brougham Road, Worthing has been undergoing some improvements in recent weeks, including new signage and rendering.

However, to further enhance the building, and create an entrance that this property deserves, it is proposed to update the open space to the front of the building.

The proposal includes the removal of the existing hard landscaping and to replace this with soft landscaping, the introduction of railings and possibly additional lighting to ‘open’ up the entrance (see image below).

It has also been suggested that the front (triangular) garden be used to remember Bernard Notley, Worthing Homes board member and resident at the Brougham complex, who sadly passed away earlier this month.

It is hoped that the works will start in March 2012.
