After hearing of some inappropriate behaviours at our green areas in Queen Street and Carnegie Road one of our housing officers decided to hold a fun afternoon to promote good use of the spaces.
On the 1 April, working with the police , an afternoon of activities was planned. This included a poster competition where young people were asked to design a poster promoting good use of the play area with the top three designers each winning an Easter Egg; and a skills session from Brighton and Hove Albion in the Community.
Our very own resident involvement team exhibited on the day to show residents how they can become more involved with Worthing Homes and shaping our services; PCSO Cathy Dines, Russ Akehurst – Adur and Worthing dog warden and the West Sussex Mediation Service were all on hand to give people advice.
The fun afternoon was followed up with a walk, talk and litter pick in the areas on the 8 April, where Worthing Homes staff were joined by local residents and their children, Cllr Bryan Turner and PCSO Cathy Dines. Along with removing rubbish on the day a few problems were identified for attention.
