Against much larger organisations, Worthing Homes were named as the ‘Social Housing Provider of the year’ at last week’s 2014 Sustainable Housing Awards.
The awards showcase the best projects and organisations in the UK, and demonstrate that the social housing sector is leading the way on sustainability, despite the challenging policy environment.
Over 700 people attended the event which was presented by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who described us as ‘small but perfectly formed’. The distinguished judging panel said of Worthing Homes “We really liked its approach, and it has demonstrated how well embedded sustainability is in its culture.”
Robin Roberts, property services director, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised at these national awards; winning social housing provider of the year demonstrates especially against such strong competition, the work that is undertaken by all at Worthing Homes.”
