Mick’s Garage gains kitchen makeover

Delicious chocolate cake was on the menu last week when a new kitchen at Mick’s Garage Community House in East Worthing was fitted by local firm Luda Interiors – all for free!!

The kitchen equipment was supplied by a Worthing Homes contractor and fitted by Luda so that the weekly cookery club that is run at the house for children aged 6 to 13 could benefit and improve their culinary skills.

Volunteer Chriss Smith said: “The old cooker was not reliable and our attempts to make cakes weren’t very successful. Now we have a lovely new oven and gas hob, which make all the difference. The children are able to produce all sorts of healthy treats, which they can then go and try at home. But today we thought that a less healthy chocolate cake would be a way to thank the men for what they have done for us!”

Luke Robbins of Luda commented: “We are very happy to be able to help the project and even happier to be here to sample Chriss’s cakes!” As well as a new cooker, the kitchen has been equipped with a new work surface and more storage units.

Mick’s Garage Community House is at 25 Dominion Road, Worthing and is a joint project between Spurgeon’s and Worthing Homes for the benefit of the local community. If you or your company would like to help support their work, please contact contact the team using the details below.
