Love your home – amnesty day

The school Easter holidays were the perfect time to hold a ‘love your home – amnesty day’ at our Fenchurch and Victoria mansions.

Organised by a team that included the housing officer, sustainability coordinator and our resident involvement officer the amnesty day was arranged to encourage the residents of these blocks to ‘love’ their communal areas and highlight the importance of keeping it tidy and to discourage fly tipping.

Along with providing a skip for residents to rid themselves of any unwanted items we had the Recycled Goods factory on hand to take away any items that could be reconditioned or refurbished to save them going to land fill, and recycle West Sussex to talk to everyone about all the different items in the home that can be recycled.

During the event the team were pleased to be joined by a number of the residents, including children of all ages, who were helping to clear weeds and litter picking with staff from Worthing Homes. We also used the opportunity to consult with the residents on enhancing the outside space that they have so that it becomes a community garden that they love and are proud to call home.
