During 2013 and 2014, with the aid of The Big Tree Plant, Worthing Homes and the Cortis Avenue Wildlife Garden team want to help local people in Worthing to plant over 4,000 trees in their own neighbourhoods.
Trees play an important part in helping us all adapt to more extreme and unpredictable weather as a result of climate change. Just a few of the things trees do for us are, help reduce our energy bills by keeping us warmer and acting as windbreaks, reduce the risk from flooding by slowing down the storm water run off, clean the air and reduce noise pollution.
The first of the tree planting sessions will be held on Wednesday 20 February at the Chiltern Crescent open space, Salvington from 10.30am. There will be free refreshments and the chance to dedicate a tree.
