Congratulations to our chief executive, Jackie Bligh, who was highly commended in the Chief Executive of the year category at the recent 24 Housing Awards.
Since Jackie joined the company three years ago she has become much more than just a chief executive, and we are no longer an organisation that just ‘ticks the boxes’.
Jackie has brought some real positive changes to the business, so we now work in a very open environment. The organisation is better run and is a balanced business looking after our customers, finances, employees, regulatory practices and we now have a fantastic brand in the community.
The spirit of innovation and working together to deliver the organisation’s mission and vision is genuinely alive at Worthing Homes with a can do attitude that is led and embedded by Jackie. Her passion for truly affordable social housing and thriving communities shines through which in turn inspires all of the people around her.
Under her leadership we continue to retain our G1 V1 rating, something which we are immensely proud of, especially in the current climate!
Jackie is also committed to delivering social rented accommodation wherever possible as she appreciates that ‘affordable’ housing isn’t affordable for everyone, so we have committed to not increasing rents above local housing allowance and not converting re-lets to affordable rents thereby helping those most in need.
Under Jackie’s leadership we are no longer ‘ticking the boxes’, we now create them; and this fantastic achievement is testament to that!
