Community House cheques out with express donation

A new Worthing convenience store has celebrated its launch with a donation to the Community House.

Emma Wallace, community development worker at the house, was the guest of honour when the new Tesco Express store on Dominion Road recently opened and was invited to cut the ribbon and declare the new store officially open.

As part of the opening celebrations, store manager Stephanie Sheppard and her team presented Emma with a cheque for £500. The store chose to donate to the house as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.

The house is a place where local people can meet up informally, take part in activities or drop in for help and advice when it is needed. It is a friendly, relaxed environment where everyone is welcome. The house is run by paid staff together with volunteers and offers opportunities for all ages.

Tesco Express store manager, Stephanie said: “We have really enjoyed our store launch celebrations and I would like to thank Emma for joining us. We are delighted to support the Community House with our £500 donation as they are a great charity which carries out such invaluable work in the community.”

“We were delighted to be invited to the store,” said Emma. “We really enjoyed the launch with Stephanie and her team and would like to thank them for this generous donation which will help towards securing the future of the community house and improve the facilities that we are able to offer.”
