Celebrating regeneration

On a cold but beautifully sunny Friday afternoon the much awaited completion of the new Worthing Homes development on the old St Barnabas site was marked in style.

Staff and senior managers from Worthing Homes were joined by a host of guests including the Mayor and Mayoress of Worthing, Tim Loughton MP, Guy Clinch Chairman of St Barnabas, colleagues from Adur and Worthing Councils, the Homes and Communities Agency and involved residents.

Along with refreshments the guests were treated to some pertinent speeches from Chris Polden, Chair of Worthing Homes Board; John Mitchell, Strategic Director at Adur and Worthing Council; and Tim Loughton MP. This was followed by a tour of the new properties including internal viewings of a number of flats and new family homes.

New Brunswick Drive, the name given to the main road of the development, is Worthing Homes largest mixed tenure development in Worthing and has been created with an individuality that gives it the feeling of a small village. Furthermore 20 of the 51 properties have been fitted with our ground breaking Relish Smartwire™.

The Smartwire™ is a master power down switch for all non-essential electrical devices in the home. Located near the front door residents can turn off the power to sockets and lights as they leave home. We estimate this will save each householder hundreds of pounds each year.

All 51 of the properties on the development have been let already!
