Friday the 13th during the British summer isn’t the best combination for holding a celebratory event but that’s exactly what Worthing Homes did!
The event was held to celebrate the partnership working that has taken place over the last few years to create a large number of new homes, of which 209 are affordable, on a strategic site in Felpham, Bognor Regis.
The development, which is on land owned by Barratt Homes in Arun District Council’s region, needed a boost after the economy collapsed to enable it to take shape and that’s where Worthing Homes came in. Worthing Homes were able to contribute £30 million to the project, with £8.5m of the monies coming from an HCA grant. Back in July 2011 when the first phases of the development completed Robin Roberts, property services director said: “Worthing Homes is delighted to have played a key role in ‘unlocking’ this site, which had previously stalled in late 2009.”
