The greenest social housing organisations in the UK were congratulated at a special environmentally friendly awards ceremony in London last week, hosted by comedian, writer and climate change campaigner Mark Watson, and organised by Inside Housing magazine and its sister-publication Sustainable Housing.
Relish™ was the winner of the Energy saving initiative of the year, beating stiff competition from more than 100 entrants from all around the country.
Inside Housing and Sustainable Housing organised the event in association with the Chartered Institute of Housing, and it was sponsored by United House, Mitie, H+H, Profile 22, Sustainable Homes, The Resourcing Group, NHBC, Willmott Dixon Group, Breyer Group, Connect-In-Housing, Wates, Higgins and the Belfry Group.
Almost 600 people gathered for the celebrations at the prestigious London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane on 22 October.
The judges included some very distinguished experts including Paul Ciniglio, head of sustainability at Radian Housing Association; Sally Hancox, the director at Gentoo Green; Richard Baines, the director of sustainable development at Black Country Housing; Andrew Mellor, a director at PRP; John Doggart, the chairman of the Sustainable Energy Academy and Sue Riddlestone the managing director of BioRegional.
