Award winning Community House

We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in our application to the Big Lottery Fund to fund the Community House. The funding secures the future of the house until 2020.

The Community House on Dominion Road, Worthing has become a focal point for the local community, working creatively and uniquely to make a real difference to people’s lives. The project will be part funded by Worthing Homes and will continue to help people change and improve the lives, skills and prospects benefitting over 1,000 local residents over the next five years. The funding will also enable the Community House to take the work it does to other parts of Worthing.

“The Big Lottery Fund awarding us further funding for the next five years recognises that the staff and volunteers at the Community House are providing a great service and homely environment that meets the needs of everyone that utilises this facility. It is a fabulous and innovative project completely rooted in the community and one that I and everyone at Worthing Homes are very proud of.” Jackie Bligh, Chief Executive.

As before we have four outcomes to achieve which include, helping young people and the unemployed to progress into employment or further education; assisting people of all ages to increase their mental and physical health through healthy lifestyle activities; and using activities to engage young people away from truancy and anti-social behaviour.

For further information about the work of the house and full details of the outcomes it will achieve over the next five year, please contact Simon Anderson, Supported Business Manager, 01903 703 150 or sanderson@worthing-homes.org.uk
