October is Black History Month in the UK, a time to celebrate Black achievements, creativity and culture, and the people whose contributions have shaped, and continue to shape, life in the UK.
From healthcare and education to music, art, business and sport, Black people have helped transform life in the UK. Alongside well-known pioneers and trailblazers, we celebrate the neighbours, colleagues, volunteers and community leaders who make a difference every day.
At Worthing Homes, we know that people are at the heart of a thriving community. Black History Month is an opportunity to recognise the talent, ideas and experiences that enrich our neighbourhoods and bring people together.

There is so much to discover and enjoy. Whether you pick up a book by a Black author, explore local history, support a Black-owned business or join a community event, there are plenty of ways to take part and find inspiration.
Throughout October, we’ll share stories celebrating Black contributions to community life. Join us as we recognise achievements, discover new perspectives and celebrate the people who help make our communities places where everyone belongs.
