Community House Update
The Community House in Dominion Road continues to thrive and with new funding coming along all the time, we remain confident about its future.
Worthing Homes has decided to again pay half of Leigh-Anna's salary and continues to work with her and other Spurgeons staff to find funding that can secure the house for future years.
The project has also received money from the Bodyshop Foundation, Sussex Community Foundation and the Children's Fund. Worthing Borough Councillor Kevin Skepper donated his Member's budget as he recognises the difference the house has made to the people in the area.
We have also had generous donations from local businesses - B&W Loudspeakers gave some speakers for us to sell and staff from Lemo UK, in Dominion Way have kindly given us a new washing machine and vouchers which will be spent on materials for the kids' clubs. Thank you to everyone else, your support is appreciated!
New activities this year include a sewing club for adults on Wednesday mornings and after requests from some of the children that come to the house, Leigh-Anna and Chriss have started a cookery club on Monday afternoons.
If you would like to take part in either of these or any of the other activities, please contact Leigh-Anna, Mick or Chriss at the house or call them on 01903 209 006. Anyone is welcome to join (as long as there's room), so don't be shy!
There is a coffee morning every Tuesday between 10 and 12, an ideal opportunity to come and say hello.
