Floating Support
Floating support can be provided to any of our properties except sheltered housing. This scheme provides help to our tenants who have support needs due to mental health issues, learning disabilities or other difficulties.
Tenants who take up the floating support service will be visited at home regularly by a support worker who will help them to achieve agreed goals related to their tenancy. These vary depending on an individuals needs and the support providers scheme, but may include:
- support them to help them stay in the accommodation or help them live more independently
- advice on claiming benefits or grants and help to complete application
- maintaining the security of the home
- learning to manage day to day minor repairs and arranging for maintenance work
- learning to maintain their home
- support, mediation or intervention in neighbourhood disputes
- help to arrange for appropriate professional support
- liaison with Worthing Homes staff or with other support, training or employment agencies
Support plans are regularly reviewed to ensure that the individual is getting the service that they need.
Our partners include: Southdown Housing Association, Worthing and Littlehampton MIND and Rainer.
If you feel you would benefit from having floating support, please contact your Neighbourhood Housing Officer or call Housing Services on 01903 703 102.
