Neighbourhood management Standards

We all want to enjoy living in neighbourhoods where communities can thrive, and people feel happy, safe and secure when passing through.

  • We will have a duty housing officer available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday

  • We will create regular opportunities to contact your neighbourhood housing officer in your area through drop-in sessions and neighbourhood walkabouts, and if your neighbourhood housing officer moves or is replaced we will let you know

  • We will feature Neighbourhood housing officers and other ‘front-line staff’ in Home News and on our website

  • We will maintain confidentiality where we receive complaints and will not identify other parties without their agreement

  • We will inspect all neighbourhoods quarterly, this includes monitoring communal areas

  • We will report on the work of the warden service

  • We will hold regular neighbourhood walkabouts, and publish our Programme of walkabouts to encourage local residents to take an active part alongside other agencies

  • We will cut the grass as per our published timetable

  • We will remove litter and weeds from borders

  • We will undertake the pruning of shrubs in the appropriate season

  • We will cut hedges during July, August and September and attend to  trees as required

  • We will inspect play areas to the ROSPA  standard

  • We will repair play areas

*This is just one of our suite of Service Standards. Our value for money, equality and diversity and customer contact standards apply to all of our other standards.
