Volunteers excel

In April the community house held 3 training sessions for 9 new volunteers, who ranged in age from their 20's through to 70's. The group included 2 volunteers from the Maybridge keystone centre in Goring.

The training covered customer care, child protection, confideniality, boundaries, personal safety and risk assessment.   All 9 volunteers passed the traning with flying colours and were presented with well-earned certificates.

Project Manager, Sue Brown, reported "Some of the topics we cover in our training are quite heavy going but the volunteers made it a joy to do, and all of them said that they had learned a lot and felt far better equipped in their work as volunteers."

The community house will be running a further course in June which already has 9 people signed up, but they will be holding further training sessions in the future.  Any organisations that would like their volunteers to take advantage of this FREE training should contact Sue Brown or Leigh-Anna Barber Corbett on 01903 215 799.
