Princes Trust
Tim Loughton and Worthing mayor Councillor Ann Barlow were guests of honour at the community house on Friday. They were there to unveil a plaque which commemorates the work that the asphaleia's Princes Trust Team have been doing at the house.
The house had received some tlc earlier this year courtesy of Worthing High school and some of the local residents , however, there was still more work to be done to brighten up the house and bring it to life!
In early November the 13 young people from the Princes Trust Team spent two days in Worthing town centre raising funds for the project, which was generously matched by Southern Water. The team then set about repainting rooms and communal areas, planting theraised beds in the garden, and getting creative in some of the activity spaces. Highlights of the young peoples' work was an inspirational motif on the stairway and a beautiful mural in the playroom.
"The house has been given such a lift since the team worked their magic" said Sue Brown, Project Co-ordinator at the Community house," It was great to see the young people enjoying themselves and learning new skills whilst helping out a community project".
