Award winning colleague

Sue Brown, Worthing Homes project manager at the community house and a resident involvement co-ordinator, received an award from the Worthing Mayor Councillor Ann Barlow.

There were 21 awards presented at a ceremony, which was held in the Mayors parlour on 16 January. The awards were for people from all walks of life including fundraisers and voluntary organisations.

Sue's award is for 'a person of distinction who has made an outstanding contribution to the lives of the people of Worthing. Through their commitment to the community, they have helped to make Worthing a better place'. The award was given for Sue's work with Worthing Homes bringing people and projects together, including most recently her work at the community house.

Sue said " I was surprised but delighted to be given an award. I would like to thank the mayor for recognising the work of the community house, and I would also like to thank Leigh-Anna our community development worker along with all of our volunteers without whom the community house would not work".
